Report from Annual Meeting 05/20/2025

Park Committeee

Annual Report of the Park Committee

The Noank Park Committee reports that the following items were completed during the past year:

· Performed routine maintenance and groundskeeping

· Added 50 yards of wood chips to the playground area

· Replaced swing seats

As always, it is great to see the park busy. Basketball and tennis courts enjoy considerable use including a regular pickleball crowd. As well, the park gets used for small gatherings and village events supporting our local organizations like the Baptist church.

We did clean up some graffiti on the playscape this winter, so we ask the village to keep on the lookout for shenanigans and continue to bring anything to our attention that needs to be fixed. We will also continue to throw out any broken toys adrift on the basketball courts. The kids enjoy these toys, but they do have a limited lifespan and please remember that the park should not be used as the local dumping ground for personal junk.

The committee anticipates typical expenditures for 2025-26 including routine lawn care. As such, the committee has requested the same budget amount as in recent years.

There are currently no major issues or projects before the committee for next year. The committee will continue to meet when needed and as always, we welcome comments, recommendations and concerns from the village.
